What Can Fans Expect from Dan Da Dan Season 2?

Evanne Evans, 13 June 2025

Dandadan, also scripted as Dan Da Dan, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu, and adapted for the screen by Netflix. Series 2 is already rolling out in stages over June and July 2025, featuring more action-packed episodes for anime fans to enjoy.

The first three episodes, titled Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye, were released in the US on 5 June and in Europe on 6 June, with the entire season scheduled for release in July. This new season will be available on both Crunchyroll and Netflix, marking a growing partnership between these two streaming platforms.
For those unfamiliar with the story, Dan Da Dan revolves around the protagonists, Ken Okarun Takakura, a boy obsessed with extraterrestrials, who meets Momo Ayase, a girl equally obsessed with the supernatural.

Together, they encounter Turbo-Granny, who passes on spiritual powers to Okarun, enabling him to unleash on unsuspecting aliens during his adventures. Furthermore, Okarun’s powers ignite telekinetic abilities in Momo, making this dynamic duo a forceful power to be reckoned with.

Fans can expect a possible continuation of Series 1 where it left off, further expanding the theme of young love and following Momo’s first major crush, a boy called Jiji. Not only does this affect the pair’s somewhat flirtatious friendship, but also a sense of love rivalry between the two boys.

As Jiji’s personal story unfolds, the trio returns to Jiji’s hometown, only to find suspicious talismans in his home and strange activity in the local surrounds. Could there be a hint in the title of the early release of a spirit that antagonizes Jiji and ultimately wreaks havoc for all?

Yoshimichi Kameda is the talent behind the Direction and youkai designs, applauded for his well-known, succinct animation style and eye-catching dramatic poses. He is also known in the industry for supporting other up-and-coming anime artists.

With a blend of suspense, humor, emotion and strong character development, we think locking into the twelve forthcoming episodes is a binge worth watching.
